What does the GPD Woodshop offer?

Our craftsmen build high quality,  custom cabinetry, custom closets, doors, and millwork, and even furniture, for your home or business, available directly from us.  While most of our work is on luxury homes, we do offer solutions for a variety of budgets, and can help most people who contact us.  We also offer a variety of competitively priced Home Storage Solutions through our GPDClosets division – Click here to check out GPDCLosets

How do I purchase from the GPD Woodshop?

We can work directly with you and your architect, general contractor, or designer or decorator. We will design, build, deliver, and install, directly to you at your home or business.

What parts of the cabinetry does your shop make?

Everything! We don’t outsource. We make the cabinet, frame, doors, drawers, and even the moldings and details. Then we finish your project in our shop, using environmentally friendly waterborne finishes. These finishes are very durable, and better for our health and environment than solvent finishes.

Do you offer design service?

Yes. Our team has several experienced designers on staff, and we also consult with a network of architects and ASID designers.

What Brands do you Carry?

Just ours! All of our work is made by our craftsmen, here in our shop just outside Asheville, NC.

Do you work with Architects or Designers?

All the time. Most of our work is by referral from Architects or Builders. And we’d welcome the opportunity to work with you directly too!

What areas do you service?

Everywhere! Most of our work is within 150 miles of Asheville, NC, however we welcome the opportunity to travel for special project, and you can find examples of our work in many homes across the United States.  Recently we’ve completed projects in Washington DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, New York, and Florida.

What wood species can my project be crafted of?

We work with a number of domestic and imported woods, such as Cherry, Pine, Quartersawn Oak, Maple, Red Oak, Alder, Sapele, Walnut and many reclaimed woods as well, such as Chestnut. As long as we can source the species from a reputable, ethical source, we will consider using it for your project.

What is your average lead time?

Lead times are not really relevant, and besides, they vary constantly.   The better question is: When will you need what we make?   Our project managers will ensure that our production remains in alignment with your critical path, to ensure you receive our cabinetry or millwork at the exact time you are ready for it

Do you have anything in stock?

It’s very rare, since we are a custom shop, which means that no project is built until an order is placed.  However, we have implemented a lot of technology and systems in order to turn projects out quickly – If you’re ready for something right now, give us a call, and let’s chat about it! We have true custom solutions which we can create for you in as little as two weeks!

Where is the GPD Woodshop located?

Our one and only workshop is located in Canton, NC. Please contact us for directions, and one of our craftsmen would be happy to give you a tour of our workshop.
